JESUS says: "Come to me and you'll find rest." But most would rather hide, trying to cover up their sins just like Adam and Eve. They'd rather put their trust in their flesh and the world, denying the existence of God or just rejecting Him daily, the more they reject Him the harder it becomes for them to humble themselves.
How can we put our trust in things that are passing away?
The reality of death is undeniable and our flesh is only a temporary vehicle that will turn back to dust one day, but our spirits are eternal. We are more than our bodies/flesh, our inner man which our bodies houses that is REALLY who we are.
God is Spirit who created us in His image and in His breath there's life. Man was created out of the dust and it was only when God breathed into Him the breath of life that he became a living soul. Being created in God's image means that we are also a spirit and when that spirit leaves us all that is left is dust, as it were in the beginning. We were created to walk with God, to be with Him whether in this body or out of it. Our spirits do not cease to exist!
Our bodies which are only a shell housing who we really are, are only here for a moment and when that breath of life leaves us then our flesh withers away, because the life is in the spirit.
And the soul will spend eternity somewhere, so while we are still in this flesh, before our spirits leave we are given a choice of where we will spend eternity. We either return to the one who breathed that life in us to be with Him forever, and God doesn't want any soul to perish but to have eternal life. But it is up to us to choose while we still have breath in our lungs. Choose LIFE, Choose JESUS and start living for Him in this life. Every breath we take is a blessing and a sign of His mercy.
Our bodies, soul and spirit belongs to JESUS, just surrender it all to Him and He will teach you how to live for Him. How to glorify Him in your bodies, He will restore your soul and wash you clean of all the sins that has kept you separated from Him and He will give you a new heart that desires to please Him, He will give you new eyes to see His kingdom and renew your mind to focus only on the heavenly treasure not the earthly treasures that wont last. It is only then that you will be made whole, it is only then that that you will find rest.
JESUS is calling every soul to Himself.
Are you listening? Will you answer that call?
His mercy is here everyday and it breaks His heart to see you in bondage, thinking that you are free but being a slave of sin. It breaks His heart to see you choosing the flesh and this world above Him.
Let go of your ego, your social status, your knowledge and worldly wisdom...all of these will not mean anything on judgment day! JESUS keeps reaching out to you, He is long-suffering with you. Don't take His grace for granted, don't harden your hearts. All that you hold on to in this world will not go with you into eternity. The flesh which you idolize will wither away and the only thing that will matter will be your soul and where you will spend eternity.
